My Hero

MAY YOU RIP WITH MUM...

MISS YOU

On the 19th of January, my Hero, my dad, would have reached 103.
September, seems so long ago since he passed away in my arms.
I have always celebrated his years with a candy when alive
so in memory of my dad, I am doing a small candy, being
the last of a tradition I have always done.

This is a photo of dad when we flew him over via air ambulance
four years ago after mum passed away, to enable to provide a
happier life for him with us as he lived 18 hours away in
another state of Australia. We gave him that extra life and
happiness until he could no longer keep going..
RIP
As always:
Be a follower
Put this on your side bar and direct back here
Put your name in Mr Linky, the blue button.

PLEASE, NO, CANDY HUNTERS. YOU will be deleted.

Candy ends at the end of January.

You can view my published creations below this post..

A fellow blogger Elly, just said, Memories are the Pearls of life....is that
why I am using the pearls lately to photograph  my cards??

Every Christmas Eve, my Grandma would light a candle and put it in the window beside the tree. It was meant as good luck and was part of my Christmas tradition. She passed 20 years ago now, but I still light a candle on Christmas Eve, no matter where I am. I think it's wonderful that you continue your tradition, do if for as many years as you feel you want to honour your Dad. I'm sure he's smiling right now as he sees this Annie.

Oh, Annie, this is so sweet! I enjoy reading about your father so much. You were blessed to have a wonderful Dad - a true hero to you. I must admit I am envious. My birth father is an alcoholic and wife beater, and my Mom was lucky to get out alive with my brother and I when I was 3. I don't have any contact with him. I have a step-father, who has been around since I was 4 and he is great, but I have not been particularly close to him although I do love him dearly. I think you already know how blessed you are/were, and it shines through when you write about your Dad. Thank you for sharing him with us! I will join your candy in remembrance of your Dad - such a kind and generous gesture - thank you!

Hi Annie, what a wonderful tribute to your dear Father and Hero. He was amazing to live so long, but no matter what age our loved ones are when they pass on, it's very difficult to say Goodbye. I've added your candy info to my side bar but I don't need more stash, so I have not added my link. Have a super weekend, Shirleyxx

What a heartbreakingly beautiful reason to offer a celebration candy. I will definitely celebrate your daddy's life with you. Mine passed away far too young at only 56 years of age and I miss him like crazy! So big hugs to you today as you remember your precious daddy. Hugs, Wends x

Hi Annie - What a lovely thought to offer a celebration goodie bag in memory of your dad. My mum passed away nearly 8 years ago and I still remember those dark days as if it were yesterday. You will never forget your dad, but the pain of losing him (and your mum) will ease ... time is a great healer. I won't enter your candy as I'm on the other side of the world, but I just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you and yours at this sad time.
Hugs, Helen x

As ever, a wonderfully generous tribute to a wonderful man. My dad was only 74 when he went 15 years ago - far too young! And mum was 81 when she was reunited with him seven years later. Yes, you were lucky to have your dad so long, but that doesn't alter the fact that he is tragically missed! Love and hugs Christine xx

What a 'sweet' way to remember your Dad, he will be so proud of you!! My Dad was 54 when he passed 22 years ago...so very young and My Mum was 64, young too, when she passed 8 years ago. I miss them both every day, but have happy memories of them both. Like you I have my traditions too, I still have to put up their Christmas tree every year as they both loved Christmas, especially my Dad, and I hang a photo ornament of them on my own!! Sending (((hugs))) your way!!!

Fab picture of your Dad, Annie. How wonderful to have him until he was almost 103! I lost my Dad 5 years ago. It's a difficult time for you, I'm sure. I am thankful to have my mother sitting next to me right now, working on a jigsaw puzzle at 85. It was sweet of you to continue your tradition in your Dad's memory.
